Store your own customized or downloaded embroidery designs on blank memory cards that fit into the card slot of the Brother SE400. The cards can be convenient if you want to use more designs than can fit into the machines internal memory and you don’t want to have to move your computer next to the machine and copy in new designs.

This memory card holds 4 megabits worth of embroidery data. The exact number of designs it will hold depends on the number of stitches in the designs. Complicated designs with more stitches take up more file space.

The blank embroidery card is rewritable. You can store all your designs organized on your computer. Write the ones you need for your current project on the card. For your next project you can erase the old designs and write new ones on the card, using the card over and over again.

You will need software and a card writer, such as the Brother PED Basic or PE-Design Software, to write the embroidery designs on the card. The Brother SE400 can only read the cards. It cannot write them.

    i have a Brother SE400 -i am looking for the PED Basic Software kit or a card that will fit…..do i have to have the Brother brand,if not what brand,and size would be a replacement for the original-also tried to download the basic 107zip.file and my computer said it was Trojan infected-this was from the Brother site directly-i called them before i found the download site and they were no help whatsoever

    I am in need of the embroidery unit. Just the unit…the arm, that slides into the machine that hold the hoops. Any resource you can provide of where I can purchase one would be greatly appreciated. Without it I just have a sewing machine. Brother has been no help.

    I have a Card writer which worked perfectly on PE3 and PE4. Now I try to connect I get a message “no card writer is connected” Everything looks normal and the light on the cardwriter indicates as if it is writing to the card. How camn I resolve this problem

    Hi, I have a White W3300 Embroidery Machine. I had the Ultimate Box and it worked great. Then came the Flood in 2011 in Minot ND and I lost my my writer and the cards. I still have the Embroidery Machine…I found a BabyLock Palette writer…but it didn’t come with software I need origionial software not updates…can you help me? I am finding it hard to find the cards to get new designed…

    Has anyone tried to copying embroidery files from a Macintosh computer to the Brother memory card reader or directly to a Brother SE-400 over USB?
